संचालनालय, खनिज विभाग, नागपूर यांच्या 2014 च्या आकडेवारी प्रमाणे महाराष्ट्रात लोहखनिजाचे साठे कोणत्या जिल्ह्यात अधिक आहेत ?
भूविज्ञान आणि खाणकाम संचालनालय (DGM), नागपूर यांच्या अहवालानुसार महाराष्ट्रात लोहखनिजाचे सर्वाधिक साठे गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यात आहेत. गडचिरोलीतील सुरजागड टेकड्या, भामरागड आणि दामकोड-वडवी या भागात सुमारे १८० ते २६० दशलक्ष टनांपेक्षा जास्त उच्च दर्जाच्या हेमॅटाईट लोहखनिजाचे साठे सिद्ध झाले आहेत.
महाराष्ट्रात लोहखनिजाचे सर्वाधिक साठे गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यात (सुरजागड) आढळतात. दक्षिण महाराष्ट्रात सिंधुदुर्ग (रेडी) येथेही लोहखनिज आढळते.
According to official mineral inventories published by the Directorate of Geology and Mining (Nagpur), Gadchiroli district holds the largest iron ore reserves in Maharashtra. World-class, high-grade hematite deposits exceeding 180 to 260 million tonnes are concentrated in the Surjagarh, Bhamragad, and Damkod-Wadvi hill tracts of Gadchiroli.
