English Explanation /
UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD, 2006):
1.
State Party Obligations: Under the UNCRPD adopted in December 2006, ratifying States Parties undertake binding commitments:
•
a) Domestic Implementation: Enforcing the comprehensive rights set forth in the Convention.
•
b) Legislative Harmonization: Modifying, harmonizing, or repealing conflicting domestic statutes (as India did with the RPwD Act, 2016).
•
c) State Reporting: Submitting periodic progress reports to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
•
d) Rights Realization: Ensuring barrier-free access, non-discrimination, and full social inclusion for disabled citizens.
Therefore, all four obligations apply to member States, making All of the above (Option 4) the right choice.
India ratified the UNCRPD on 1 October 2007, subsequently enacting the comprehensive Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act in 2016.
